Robbery Suspect Arrested at Harbor Freight Tools

On 4/23/18 SMPD Officers responded to a robbery in progress at the Harbor Freight Tools in Santa Maria. The Suspect assaulted the store employee and fled before police arrived. Officers were able to locate video of the suspect fighting with the store employees. During the fight with the suspect a store employee suffered a severe head injury. 

Today SMPD officers contacted a subject who was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Upon further investigation, the subject was identified as the outstanding suspect in the robbery at Harbor Freight Tools. The suspect was identified as 20 year old, Ian Michael Applegate of Santa Maria, CA.
