After serving as a staple of craft beer at the Funk Zone, Rincon Brewery has closed the doors of its Santa Barbara location.
The brewery confirmed the closure of the location in a social media post, announcing that the outlet wrapped up its service on March 1, 2026.
In an Instagram post shared earlier, the brewery said the Funk Zone outlet had been sold, adding that it was “bittersweet” to share the news.

The post included a series of videos and images capturing customers enjoying pints and meals over the years, along with glimpses of the pub’s interiors and kitchen.
Rincon Brewery thanked all its customers who “shared a pint, a laugh, or a sunny afternoon” at the brewery and for all the memories made together.
“From community gatherings and special celebrations to spontaneous meetups over great food and beer, this space has been filled with amazing memories and connections that we’ll always appreciate,” Rincon Brewery shared in its post.
In its farewell post, the pub invited customers to stop by and buy the last few pieces of merchandise, dog toys, and help clear out the beer-to-go fridge.

While the brewery has not announced plans of reopening at a new location, it said the closure of the Santa Barbara location was not a “goodbye, just a new chapter.”
Rincon Brewery’s other two locations, at Carpinteria and Ventura, will continue to stay open.
Serving handcrafted beers, Rincon Brewery also serves a selection of food items that are locally-inspired and pair well with the drinks.
The Santa Barbara location holds a 4.2-star rating on Yelp, reflecting its popularity within the community.
The brewery encourages guests to sample the beers on tap and sources its ingredients locally and supports sustainable methods, according to its website.
The closure marks a shift in the evolving landscape of Santa Barbara’s dining scene.
More Eateries Close in Santa Barbara
The closure of Rincon Brewery comes at a time other bars and restaurants are shutting down in Santa Barbara.
Riviera Bar, a bar and restaurant known for its cocktails and elevated tavern fare, closed on February 14, 2026. The bar opened in summer 2021 at the former space of The Sportsman (which relocated to State Street) at 20 West Figueroa Street, continuing a tradition of over 80 years of a bar and restaurant at the historic address.
No immediate plans were provided about the future occupants of the space.
Additionally, Los Altos Restaurant announced it was closing its longtime Milpas Street location after being in business for several years.
Expressing gratitude for the community’s support over the years, the owners said the closure was due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
Following the closure of the Santa Barbara location, the restaurant will operate only from its Goleta address.
