Riding for the Cure

By Patti Gutshall
Driving up 101 we noticed a line of horses and realized it was Rancheros Visitadores “Riding for the Cure”. Turned off and got lucky to view these beautiful horses and their riders.

May 08, 2018 06:02 AMThis was not the "Ride for the Cure" day; they all wore the new pink shirts (they have been a different pink pattern each year) for that on Saturday. Yes, long tradition; 88 years to be exact.

May 08, 2018 06:37 AMAfter the parade most take off the shirt. Some were wearing them. It's a long ride so back to the working attire. A lot goes into this ride. Medical personnel and vets travel along too. Water stops too. Got to keep the horses and their riders hydrated.

May 08, 2018 08:29 AMNostrachumash; Congrats on being a "survivor". I am still fighting, (post chemo and starting radiation next week) meanwhile, my husband is out with the rest of the cowboys until Friday.

May 08, 2018 09:40 AMThanks, & im sorry for your condition.
Cancer is a terrible thing that no-one really recovers from..
Today's medicine, as well as the medical community, does not address recovery..
but rather a "maintenance" stance.
No profit in the Cure.
