Rescued Hiker Near 7 Falls

Update by Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue
March 18, 2020

[Tuesday] afternoon, SBCSAR responded to a hiker stuck in the area known as 7 Falls in Santa Barbara’s Upper Mission Canyon.

We responded with both City and County Fire as well as County Air Support to locate and safely hike out the stuck hiker. Teams were assigned numerous trail routes in which they searched until receiving voice contact with the hiker. The hiker was found uninjured and then assisted out of the area he had become stuck by rescue personnel.

With the increased traffic on the trails during this time, SBCSAR and other first responders urge the hiking public to stay on designated trails and to hike within one’s ability. Please also take provisions for the unexpected and always have a phone, water and appropriate clothing and shoes for the area.
