There are ways.
It’s called encrypted and is not used anywhere around here. Larger cities are doing it but just for a city of our size it would run over 10-12 million dollars. All they are doing here is switching working incidents to tactical freqs. to clear up main channels. Here up by Foothill I can hear most all the calls on my dual trunking portable but if they start breaking up I have a 30′ ground plane above my garage man cave that can pick CHP pursuits in LA.
I used to have a 101 Bearcat could do that.
Is it an electric Porsche? Save the planet but contaminate the air with smoke.

My first thought was some Richie Rich’s aging wife found out about his 40 year-younger “sweet thing” and torched his gold-digger magnet. Guess I’m getting cynical.
