Red Flag Warning Through Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for wind and low relative humidity from 6pm this evening to 9amSunday morning (possibly longer) for the SANTA BARBARA COUNTY MOUNTAIN AREAS (Fire Weather Zone CAZ 252) . 

* Winds...East winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph are expected at times tonight into Sunday morning...strongest northern and eastern mountains and foothills.

* Relative Humidity...Daily minimum 3 to 10 percent with very poor overnight recovery.

*Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential for very rapid spread of wildfire with long range spotting and extreme fire behavior that could lead to a threat to life and property.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected. A combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution when using potential fire ignition sources. This is a potentially dangerous situation, please stay alert.
