The story about the former Big Yellow House restaurant in Summerland includes HECTOR THE GHOST, and many unexplainable events. Oddly it was tented for Halloween and one can only wonder about the coincidence.
He Big Yeowue!
Can someone tell me who Hector is and is the place really haunted?
No place is relly haunted, except in fantasy.
Summerland, has a long history of strange occurrences...
The previous people making comments, except the Palm, of course, must be new..
Nope. Sorry, not new. I've lived here way longer than the Palm and Summerland's had lots of sulphur coming up from under ground for decades, not to mention Radon gas. Legend is, Summerland had so called 'spirits' because they couldn't explain the source of the fires coming up from the ground decades ago. There's nothing strange about it; just people's gullibility.
Thanks Primetime. I remember childhood meals there!
The yoga energy did not get rid of the ghosts.
Ghosts are real, Ty Warrner uses real life ghost busters to clean the rooms at the ranch! You really get your moneys worth there!
Kinda like dark matter in physics, hard to detect, but more than matter in the universe!
We might discover after we die we become dark matter in future physics, I worked at the ranch, major ghosts there, JFK had his honeymoon there!
"Hector" is alleged to have dwelt in the basement and in the library according to local author Rod Lathim. Proof? I was dining with family years ago and someone said Hector was getting on the scale used to determine the price of kids' meals and guess what? The scale read "0" as expected from a blob of ectoplasm!
Summerland, was a colony of Spiritualists, developed around 1885...
You can look it up...still folks there with mystical aspects...nothing creepy about it but they have there own history, beliefs.
There are no spirits, except in a metaphorical sense, despite beliefs.
@ 10:26 PM: Carl Jung (Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst; 1875-1961) wrote some very fascinating interpretations of the paranormal, including hauntings, from a psychological perspective.
I saw it tented, hopefully maybe, something is coming in there.
A nice restaurant. Don’t need another outdoor pots and old patio furnitures .
It’s nice the buildings are now being leased out, but all the same stuff.
