The Santa Cruz Market 5th Annual Goleta Holiday Parade Presented by Fuel Depot that was scheduled for this Saturday, December 3, at 6:00 p.m. has been postponed to the following Saturday, December 10, at 6:00 p.m. due to the strong likelihood of rain. While it is disappointing not to celebrate this special hometown parade with you this Saturday, we hope you will mark your calendar for December 10 and plan to enjoy this beloved community event.

We want to thank the Goleta Lions Club for spending hundreds of hours preparing for the parade and to the participants, volunteers and sponsors for pivoting to a new date once the rainy day forecast forced organizers to make the difficult call to change the date.

We appreciate all the work that has been done behind the scenes to make this magical parade happen and we appreciate the community’s support to show up on December 10 and be a part of this wonderful holiday tradition.

As a reminder, the parade route is on Hollister Avenue from Orange Avenue to Kinman Avenue. Hollister Avenue from Fairview Avenue to Kellogg Avenue will be closed to traffic, including e-bikes, starting at 5:00 p.m. on December 10 and will re-open around 8:30 or 9:00 p.m.

Public parking is available in the Yardi parking lot at 430 S. Fairview Avenue. If your vehicle is parked in the parade route it will be cited and towed. If you are attending the parade, please allow time for parking and carpool if possible.

We can’t wait to see you on Saturday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m.!

Bummer, how can one go to the "Milpas Holiday Parade" & the "Goleta Holiday Parade" as they're now on the same day & times? But you gotta love that "will be closed to traffic, including e-bikes", thanks for including the "e-bikes" in that statement/closure! I'm really torn as I've always appreciated 'The Santa Cruz Market 5th Annual..." one, guess this year I'll check out the Parade on Milpas?

Disclosure - I'm NOT an e-bike fan... I've been"Cut-off" enough times to NOT appreciate that mode of travel in the bicycle lane? esp. those with the huge small wheels, that seem to be very popular with a certain crowd. "You people,"!!!

No one is persecuting E Bikes. You can ride any kind of bicycle to the parade area but you can’t ride an E Bike on the PARADE ROUTE during the road closure because there will be people walking around on the closed road. Bicyclist, you may be a responsible E Biker but there are many that are not, predominantly teens and tweens that have been riding their E Bikes recklessly in pedestrian areas. The parade promoters want everyone to be safe and have to follow rules established by the insurance company. I’m fairly certain the Milpas parade won’t allow E Bikes to be zooming around on the parade route either.
