Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a brush fire on UC Santa Barbara’s campus Wednesday.
At 3:37 p.m. two county fire engines arrived in the 700 block of Elkus Walk.
Within thirty minutes the forward progress of the fire was stopped and fully contained. There were no structures threatened and no reported injuries.
While there are rumors an arsonist is to blame for this and other fires in the area, law enforcement has yet to formally confirm the suspicions.
The cause is under investigation by the UC Santa Barbara Police Department.
