Public’s Help Needed in Goleta Hit and Run

Yesterday, January 6, 2020, at approximately 1:00 pm, a 93-year-old male was riding his bicycle in the 5700-block of Calle Real when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The victim was knocked off his bicycle and suffered moderate injuries in the collision. He was treated at the scene, then taken by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle who struck the bicyclist did not stop following the collision and fled westbound on Calle Real toward Fairview Avenue. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model 4-door, dark-colored sedan.
