Maybe the public servants could spend more money on a video showing how their pension accounts are growing. "Get a job in government, it's a growth industry."

Don't forget it took Measure C to get us even these bare bones and long overdue infrastructure improvements. The city officials spent all the other money on their own salaries, perks and pensions. Then black mailed us to pass Measure C - if you don't pass it there will be NO money for infrastructure. They guessed right if they asked us to pass Measure C to back fill their own benefits, we would not do it. So they put the voters over the barrel -tax yourselves if you want anything done that benefits yourselves. This is wrong and this is dishonest. But this is too many decades of your elected city government in action.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't - it is a good thing to keep the public informed with EASY to access information. Would you rather be completely in the dark? I like knowing what my tax dollars are going to, even if there is some cost involved in putting that information out. Besides, videos like this are easier to make nowadays than you think. One could do an FOIA request to find out the billable cost of this video if they wanted.

I agree with PITMIX, reminds me of the inserts in gas & electric bills, always trashed TLDR, that tell us utility monopolies are going to hold hearings at our expense to justify increases in their rates.

Mailer inserts are a different animal than hiring a firm to create a slick video. Luckily we are very generous with our taxes so they have lots of extra money to do things like this. It used to be that public employee salaries were very low so they had to give generous benefits to get people to work there. Now the salaries are the same as private industry, and they still have the generous benies. Good work if you can get it.

It's a legal requirement to inform the public of meetings of that nature. Would you rather rate increases happen 1) without a public meeting or 2) with a hush-hush "public" meeting that no one is informed of?

People complain so much about the poor condition of infrastructure it makes sense to announce what projects are in the works.

How much did we have to pay for this effort to advertise the fact that the Public Works Department is trying to accomplish their mission? Public agencies are now spending precious taxes on marketing efforts like they are private companies looking for new clients and contracts. What a waste!
