The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department is inviting community members to join the COVID-19 response through a variety of staff and volunteer opportunities. As testing increases, so does the need for various roles to support expanded public health activities. Positions will be available for remote work and community work. Some examples of roles available include:

•           Contact Tracer
•           Nurse
•           Investigator/Interviewer
•           Driver
•           Outreach Worker

Persons applying are not required to have previous training, however clinical degrees or bilingual abilities will be required for certain positions.  “We encourage our community to apply for these COVID-19 response opportunities to assist their own neighbors in the fight against this virus,” shared Van Do-Reynoso, Public Health Director. “Whether you have a background in a particular health-related field or you’re looking for a way to serve your community, Santa Barbara County needs you.”

Those who are interested in working or volunteering with the Public Health Department should complete an interest form available here. For more information on the COVID-19 response in Santa Barbara County, please www.publichealthsbc.org.
