On the evening of July 8, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, a Santa Maria Police officer conducting proactive patrol in a residential neighborhood contacted a juvenile known to be on probation near the intersection of Golden and Sunset.
During the encounter, the officer discovered a loaded handgun concealed in the juvenile’s waistband.
The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked into Juvenile Hall on weapon-related charges.
This arrest is part of the Santa Maria Police Department’s ongoing efforts to remove illegal firearms from individuals prohibited by law from possessing them.
