Private Area at the SB Bowl?

By an edhat reader

Hi all. long-time reader, first time submitter here. I moved back to town a little while ago and attended my first Bowl show in a good long while.

I noticed the private area above the concessions, it looks like a restaurant and hang out spot. How do you get tickets to go up there or is it a celebrity/donor/sponsor only kind of thing? Thanks in advance.

  1. Lucky777: I’ve been in the “private” area as well, but it was for ‘The Eagles’ (I think that’s who it was…a bit fuzzy on details as wine/beer were free/free/freeeeeheeheee…..). For most “schlubs” getting into the private area only happens when catching crumbs from someone who is connected/wealthy or political class. I cannot imagine working customer service at Cox, and many of them have an incredible amount of patience. Do you know if the person lost their job for directly insulting you? I once sent an inappropriate email (jokingly wrote to a co-worker that I hooked up with the boss during the IPO party at the Santa Clara Convention Center), but the email address was one letter off and went to someone who I did not know. Luckily, that person did not pass my email on to my boss or to HR, and if they had I most certainly would have lost my job. Sometimes we need to put ourselves into the shoes of others and let things slide….but that’s just me.

  2. The Bowl is a County owned facility, paid for and constructed for the use of the public. Now the rich and connected have their private space so they don’t have to interact with the rest of us, who are now jammed into seats a fraction of the size of the spacious concrete aprons or lawn area below that us peons used to enjoy (good ole’ days). I’ll be the County Bowl of Sups is up there schmoozing with their rich buddies. Disgusting.
