Post Office Delays?

By an edhat reader

Is anyone else have a problem with mail sent from our main post office? I have mailed out 2 cards for 2 different occasions and one never got there and the other is majorly delayed. Is anyone else experiencing this? I expected some delay due to COVID restrictions, which is why I mailed them early but this seems excessive especially with one never getting there.

  1. @ 12:55: A small sampling of proven/convicted voter fraud by mail reveals that there are more than 1000 cases. And you think this opposition to mail-in ballots by harvesting, not requiring a SSN, permanent residence, or any other form of verifying the voter is actually legitimate is concocted by the Republicans? Please, wake up and give us a break.

  2. Who is looking for faults or weaknesses? What are you talking about? Everyone expects delays during COVID but to have something never delivered for an event – when the person took steps to mail something early – is worth addressing. And who said that by bringing it up and asking if others are having the same experience is not focusing on the good? So tired of soapboxes of ppl acting as if they are more enlightened than others. Usually those are the least enlightened among us.

  3. Yes. I submitted a temp forward June 8 and have NOT seen a single piece of mail being forwarded. I even sent “tester” letters, and they still end up in my mailbox at home. I’ve tried calling the Help line, but can’t get through to a real person. First time I called that No-Help line, went thru all the automated questions and answered for over 30min , and the final message they said was that they were not open, and to call back between the hours of …. blah blah blah.!!!!!! So, today, I tried again, and the wait time to speak with a supposedly live person was gonna be over 2 hours..(gave me the option of being put on hold, or they can call me back. I chose the callback option…… well, I made that call at 9am , and it’s 12:30pm ….. that is more than 2 hours !!! NOT happy….

  4. And, since they charge a small fee now to forward the mail, I should get that fee back, since I have NOT gotten the service I paid for. Opinions on that???? ps- everything is done online now. But, what if someone doesn’t have access to a computer, or even know how to use a computer……yes, there are some folks that don’t know how to use a lot of fancy, more & more complicated electronics…..

  5. The post office is a wreck and has been for years. With Covid, and now politicians interjecting mail/not mail in balloting? Prepare for the worst. We could drop Saturday service tomorrow and not miss a beat. Even junk mail is becoming obsolete. But it’s not about efficiency or billions “wasted” is it. It’s a jobs for vote program that also delivers mail.

  6. The fee is ONE DOLLAR AND FIVE CENTS, and FREE if you do it in branch – no one is required to complete it online. Other fees are only if there is an increased postage cost to get it to your new address (rare). Breathe, and vote for politicians who support USPS funding.

  7. It’s not personal – mail is slow everywhere – I sent two checks in early June which haven’t been processed. Check to see how reasonable our post is with other countries which are a lot smaller. Instead of looking for faults or weaknesses in life, try to focus on the good.

  8. Sorry, but defunding the incredibly necessary U.S. Post Office in order to disable vote by mail is a bad idea, politically driven by Republicans whose leader admits he votes by mail but doesn’t think others should. Enough of this bad idea. We have real problems to tackle in the U.S without wasting time on this.
