Welcome to the new generation: I'm gonna do something that's probably kinda stupid but, no worries: I have my cell phone and will call for rescue if things turn bad.

To be fair it is a concrete creek, straight as an arrow, over there that spills into Atascadero creek that's pretty darned wide so it's easy to see the fun in it.

Was it after a record rainfall? (Not saying this was most or heaviest rain, just that it counts, in some places.)

I have traveled down Atascadero creek from Hollister Ave to Goleta Beach with 3 other friends . We had a gallon of Vodka wetsuits a Rubber Raft and a couple Big Innertubes'. This was before cell phones. We called my girlfriend from the payphone at the pier for pick up. We were teenagers, excellent surfers and swimmers. No problems . Today probably get arrested. lol

Subject is out of the creek so no water rescue there.
