I hope County animal control responds and gets the guy. So sad for the dog. Chances are they won’t get the guy, their response times aren’t good. The county only has one officer responding to calls on the south coast at any given time during the day. After hours calls are worse, they dispatch an officer from Santa Maria and it usually takes about 2hrs to respond for an emergency. Not good for our community and a total waste of our taxpayers money. Poor dog…

What a police state we have become. Anonymous accusations about such stuff are absurd. Dollars to donuts the dog has no complaint about its human.
…Or, it was “Called in” because the dog was in obvious distress?
How about ‘what a bunch of criminals and losers’ we have around here. Look around, crimes happen and those who commit them should be accountable. Or do you prefer anarchy?

If a citizen called in a report of animal abuse, it’s probably because they saw something that just wasn’t right. The responding officer is there because a report was made by a citizen. It isn’t as if a police officer just strolled up and accused a person of animal abuse. It was called in.
Now your next move is probably going to be the overtly sexist and racist “Karen” strategy and that wouldn’t surprise me one bit. It is the usual go to of the “we’re living in a police state!” crowd.

Did they find the person who was picking up a little dog by the collar? She obviously needs counseling on how to treat animals. Anyone know if the dog is safe now?
Rypert, we have a huge number of “citizen” call ins for something “not right” that are the clear consequence of the bigotry, bias, self-righteousness that such anonymous processes allow. To assume that the person who called is a correct judge of the circumstances is a bit far. The ancient Chinese recommended that an anonymous informer should be hung in his time as I recall.
