In January 2027, Whiskey ‘N Rye Smokehouse will be opening a location at Camino Real Marketplace (CRM), one of the largest shopping centers in Goleta.
The BBQ restaurant will be located at 6920 Marketplace Drive next to the Bistro Jane.
The location used to be home to several beloved dine-ins like Pascucci Goleta, Holdren’s Grill, Holdren’s Steaks & Seafood, among others.
The CRM eatery will be Whiskey ‘N Rye’s second location. The company currently operates a restaurant open at 9442 Atterdag Road in Solvang.
The new location will feature whiskey-tasting events, chances to try limited-release alcohol, and educational classes about whiskey.
While barbecue remains the restaurant’s centerpiece, it is also known for its extensive whiskey selection. Guests visit to try drinks from their whiskey list, which has over 200 options.
In December 2025, Whiskey ‘N Rye opened a condensed version of its dine-in called Que West Coast BBQ. The barbecue hub can be found at the Santa Barbara Public Market.
“This new location represents the next evolution of Whiskey ‘N Rye as a premier smokehouse destination with best-in-class hospitality and one of California’s most compelling whiskey programs,” Whiskey ‘N Rye CEO Don Conner told the Santa Barbara Visitors Guide.
The upcoming Goleta spot has been in the works since at least April of 2025, according to the Santa Barbara Visitors Guide.
Whiskey ‘N Rye’s Story
Despite barbecue being the heart of its eatery, Whiskey ‘N Rye’s menu offers a wide array of meals to choose from.
The chefs wanted to make sure guests who didn’t like barbecue, or who were vegetarian or vegan, had options to pick from too.
The restaurant’s diversified menu has captured the attention of many.
Despite being located in Solvang, a city of about 6,000 residents, Whiskey ‘N Rye serves visitors in a tourism market that attracts nearly 2 million people annually.
Additionally, in 2023 and 2024, the company was given Best BBQ awards by Restaurant Guru.
“Whiskey ‘N Rye was built to be a refined smokehouse that balances comfort with sophistication. Our menu stretches beyond barbecue staples to include steaks, chicken, fish, salads, and even smoked spaghetti squash, ensuring there’s something memorable for every guest,” the restaurant’s website reads.
