Police Training at Montecito Union School

Update by Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department

Sheriff’s deputies trained with fire personnel from the Montecito Fire and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection Districts today on how to respond to an active shooter scenario on a school campus. The training was a unique and important opportunity for law enforcement and fire to train together. Thank you to Montecito Union School for allowing us to use their campus for this important exercise.

Does anyone know why there’s a huge police presence near Montecito Union School this afternoon? Seems to be a lot of activity with different agencies. It started just after noon.
