Does anyone have any more information about the police activity in Goleta late Wednesday night (March 4)?

Around 10:30 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies surrounded a home near the corner of Berkeley and Wakefield Roads.

Deputies were on a loud speaker talking to someone who seemed to be barricaded in their home. Deputies had guns drawn and the area was blocked off.

I didn’t get a shelter in place notice but I’m several houses down. I don’t know if residents directly in that area were alerted.

Deputies entered the home around 11:00 p.m. and were able to arrest someone in there and cleared the scene shortly thereafter. But it was quite the standoff for a while.
