Poison on Hiking Trails?

I am a regular hiker on Inspiration trail. [Thursday] morning I (and many other hikers) noticed many dead mice along the trail. This is worrisome as we have not seen that many animals fallen dead all at once before. I hope this is not because of any chemicals or pesticides. Does anyone know? Or who can we alert to look into this and inform the public of the cause?

Curious to know what part of the trail … near the asphalt walkway? Or farther away north of the creek crossing? The former is much closer to nearby homes/humans.

If you get close to a drug cartel marijuana grow you may find poison and poisoned animals. They often use poison that is not legal in the US.

Did you happen to notice whether the mice were all the same species, and which one(s)?
