Places to Watch the World Cup
By an edhat reader
Like an Easter Christian, I only get enthusiastic about football/soccer every 4 years, but another 4 years have passed, and the World Cup begins next week. It would be fun to hear local suggestions for places to go and watch the games! Extra points awarded for mentioning spots with comfortable seating, TVs with superior resolution (these aren't usually the biggest ones), and healthy beer menus. Thanks in advance!

Jun 12, 2018 11:11 AMI might put in a vote for Third Window. Good beer, lots of TVs, usually plenty of seating, and bonus: dog friendly, if you like that.

Jun 12, 2018 11:24 AMWhat is a "healthy beer menu?" Do you mean beer that is healthy or menus with a lot to offer?

Jun 12, 2018 03:39 PMU.S. failed to qualify. Why even watch? (Just kidding. No sport would get me into a bar. Not even a dog-friendly bar. Good for Third Window. My dog gives it two paws up.)

Jun 13, 2018 09:33 AMFlightLine Restaurant, GREAT! It was High Sierra, and before that, Elephant Bar. By the airport on Hollister. Fun place, especially if you like airplanes with your soccer.

Jun 14, 2018 02:19 PMPepe's Restaurant is opening at 7am on Sunday 6/17 for the match between Germany and Mexico. There will be free coffee, orange juice, and Mexican pastries. At 9am they will have a brunch offering. Pepe's is 245 Orange Ave, off of Hollister in Goleta. A wonderful family-owned restaurant! Nice people and very friendly.
