Pilings Replaced at Stearn’s Wharf

Pilings are in the process of being replaced on Stearn’s Wharf Friday morning after being damaged in a boating accident.

On July 2, Roger the Scanner Guy reported a boat crashed into Stearn’s Wharf in the Santa Barbara Harbor near the Sea Center. The 24-foot inflatable boat was carrying approximately seven people and was driven by local resident Paul Noury, reports KEYT News.

Harbor Operations Manager Mick Kronman told KEYT News the boat was operating at a high rate of speed and after the collision sent three people into the water.

No injuries were reported but Noury was cited for reckless and negligent vessel operation.
