Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Chapala

That Summerland camp burned before the Thomas fire if they cannot put out their warming fires they should not be there. I got hit by cars and trucks a few times as a kid Hurts now real bad. Nowadays everyone texts or jabbergabbers on the phone while driving not many drivers care. They think bicyclists and pedestrians ought to get out of THEIR WAY.

Look at the time stamp of the report. Dark thirty. Drivers must be extra diligent because oncoming darkness and a pedestrian wearing dark clothing is a recipe for disaster.

Hope you're fully recovered A-15, and that this latest injury there wasn't serious. It's an awkward intersection, especially when buses turn left from the right lane to take the freeway westbound. Has anyone seen pedestrians on 101 southbound at Summerland? It looks like the "Cliff Dwellers" homeless camp there is growing again (I sent Ed an aerial pic that might be published tomorrow, and have just put some on SBitZ.NET with different views - plus some of the Thomas Fire burn area).

I've been hit by a car in this same intersection, its a dangerous intersection for pedestrians as drivers don't always look both ways to drive across Chapala, as its a one-way street. I walk it nearly every day to & from work, and it should be considered for a future stop light or some additional crossing lights.
