A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday after a collision involving a single vehicle at 100 W. Anapamu Street, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on February 6, 2026. Police said the pedestrian was entering a parked vehicle when the collision happened.
The injured individual sustained significant injuries and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, officers closed the roadway at 100 W. Anapamu Street to conduct an investigation. The road reopened at 9:30 p.m. Friday.
The investigation is ongoing, police said. No additional details were immediately released.

I don’t know if he fled the scene,, but the police apprehended him and tested him fro alcohol. According to them, “alcohol was not a factor in this collision.” Maybe distracted driving? In any case, a horrific tragedy!
According to the SB police, the pedestrian, Teresa Garcia of Ventura, who was 68 years old, succumbed to her injuries and passed away at Cottage Hospital.
