Pedestrian Injured When Struck by Train

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a train near the Santa Barbara Zoo.

First responders arrived near Dwight Murphy Park on Ninos Drive around 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of an injured pedestrian. 

The male, who’s identity was withheld, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. His condition is unknown.

The Amtrak train was stopped for a period of time while Santa Barbara Police investigated.
