Pedestrian Dies in Cabrillo Vehicle Collision

A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on E. Cabrillo Blvd. Monday evening has died from their injuries.

Emergency response teams responded to the 600 block of E. Cabrillo around 5:15 p.m. and found a man in his 60’s severely injured after being struck by a Ford van. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and was pronounced dead after arriving.

The Santa Barbara Police Department states their investigation suggests the driver was unaware of the pedestrian until impact. The victim reportedly darted into the roadway between two large vehicles before being hit, reports KEYT News.

The investigation is ongoing.
