DJ Darla Bea invited me over to Paseo Nuevo on Sunday for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and “Snow”. Here are my photos.
Darla Bea posed for me as she was spinning Christmas tunes.
She was joined by candy cane lady Jessie Kat, who was dancing with a disco ball on her head! It turns out she is a very multitalented performer. She does a variety of circus arts including juggling various lighted toys and riding electric unicycles. Electric Cirque is one of her performance groups. She is about to be whisked away by jet to SpaceX in Texas to perform for them. And we got to see her up close and personal!
The central plaza was filled with revelers.
City Council Member Wendy Santamaria stopped by and posed with Darla Bea.
John Palminteri rushed over from another event in Carpinteria to join the festivity.

And then came the “snow”! Some kind of foam, but the kids of all ages were having a blast playing in it!
