The Dept of Transportation (Pete Buttigieg) needs to address this and prevent this kind of BS from ever occurring again. We are becoming a Third World.
From an article in today's (online) LAT, it's all because of outdated, inadequate software -- and this holiday period screwup affected not only passengers but crew. I wonder where all the pilots and attendants stayed in this high cost area!
@catwrangler: Flight crews are not really salaried employees who get paid the same each month no matter what. They generally get paid when they fly. Non-flight time is either unpaid or paid at a tiny fraction of what they make while flying. SW might pick up their expenses but those folks aren't just kicking back in SB soaking up a paycheck.
It isn't the crews fault. I'm sure they aren't happy being away from family so I hope they get a great vacation in Santa Barbara. Also who knows if they are getting paid. I'm sure it is a nail biter for them.

Dec 28, 2022 09:04 AMGood old SW airlines. I did not know they had that many flights daily into SBA.
