A paraglider sustained a foot injury after crashing into an area off Rattlesnake Trail late Saturday morning.

Santa Barbara County firefighters, Search and Rescue, and Los Padres Forest officials responded to a report of a paraglider down around 11:10 a.m. The solo male paraglider landed in a meadow approximately 1.8 miles up Rattlesnake Trail near 1900 Las Canoas Road, said SBC Fire Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

Due to the extended time it took crews on foot, a helicopter lowered a paramedic to directly assess the patient. When foot crews arrived they used a Stokes basket to carry the paraglider to an ambulance which transported him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
