The Santa Barbara Police Department is seeking the Public’s help in identifying the female suspect pictured in the attached videos.  She is a suspect in the 484 PC, theft of a package from the front porch of a residence.

The theft occurred in the area of Junipero St and De La Vina St on 11-25-2017 at around 5:00 AM.  The first attached video shows the suspect passing by the location walking her dog.  The dog appears to be a smaller Pit-bull/mix and the female is smoking a cigarette.  The second attached video shows the suspect walk back to the porch without the dog, retrieve the package and leave.

If anyone has any information regarding the suspect or the theft, please contact Detective April DeBlauw at (805)897-2327 oradeblauw@sbpd.com.  If you wish to remain anonymous you may call our tip line at (805)897-2386.

If they had shown the entire video, or let us know how long it took for the woman to come back and steal the package, maybe could have figured out where she lives. Like if it only took 10 min, then she lives a couple houses down ..... Almost looked like a fresh cigarette in the 2nd video. Hope they find that scumbag common low-life thief.

This is a typical SBPD case - alert the public after the trail is frozen solid & at least a few weeks have elapsed Nuts! Why even notify the public now because it's embarrassing for the PD?

This is awful, but totally preventable if you're expecting a package from Amazon (as this one is). If you are expecting a package from Amazon, keep an eye out on the tracking email they send you. By 8pm it should be delivered, so go outside and check. If you aren't home and know a package is going to be delivered that day, have it sent to a different address for pick up (really easy to do). That said, if someone is sending you a package and you aren't expecting it, well, not sure what to do. Again though, package thieves like this are the lowest of the low and should be marched through the town publicly when caught!!

Rex - Not doubting you, but wondering how you know this happened a month ago.

First line of second paragraph. "The theft occurred in the area of Junipero St and De La Vina St on 11-25-2017 at around 5:00 AM." They have been waiting to long to release request for public's assistance for a while now.

This happened nearly a month ago. Perhaps if the photos had been released by the PD in a timely fashion, there would be a much better chance of catching this thief. I will never understand why law enforcement usually waits weeks to share such pictures with the public.
