Oxnard Police Investigate Shooting that Injures One Person

On October 9, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of Marlin Way and Harbor Blvd regarding an assault victim.

The victim was confronted by the suspect, assaulted, and pistol-whipped with a black handgun. EMS responded, and the victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Once at the hospital, the victim was found to have a through-and-through gunshot wound to his arm.  

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’7”, medium build, wearing dark clothing. After the assault, the suspect fled in a dark colored compact sedan.

Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) responded and took over the investigation. At this time, it is believed that the motive for the attack was robbery.
