A white cargo van overturned on northbound U.S. 101 at Hermosillo Road Tuesday morning, blocking the No. 1 lane and causing major delays, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. on April 7. CHP said the van struck a K-rail and came to rest on its side in the fast lane.
A traffic break was conducted at Sheffield Lane, and both lanes were briefly closed to allow emergency vehicles through. Santa Barbara Towing responded to the scene.
CHP initially warned of significant congestion and urged drivers to “expect delays and use caution,” advising alternate routes where possible.
At least one minor injury was reported, though the number of people hurt was not immediately clear.
By 9:00 a.m., CHP reported both lanes had reopened and traffic was recovering.
The circumstances leading to the crash were not immediately available.
