An overnight, overlay/paving project along U.S. Highway 101 from the northern city limits of Buellton to just past the State Route 101/154 separation will begin next Tuesday, May 28, Caltrans officials have announced today. Details are as follows:

  •  Northbound and Southbound closures of U.S. Hwy. 101 between 8 pm and 6 am (the next morning).
  •  Northbound and Southbound ramp closures at Damassa Overcrossing and at the State Route 101/154 separation between 8 pm and 6 am (next morning).
  •  The project will take place from Sunday night through Thursday night (Friday morning) with anticipated delays of 15 minutes.
  •  Electronic message signs will be posted alerting motorists of these closures and the California Highway Patrol will assist with enforcement and traffic control.

The contractor for this $4.2 million project is Granite Construction Co. Inc. of Santa Barbara, CA. These closures are necessary so that the overlay/paving of the highway can be complete and completion is expected in late September, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
