Over 3,000 Orcutt Residents Affected by Power Outage Following Vehicle and Power Pole Collision

A single-vehicle collision with a power pole near the intersection of Highway 135 and Skyway Drive in Orcutt on Tuesday has resulted in a widespread power outage, impacting more than 3,000 customers in the region.

As the incident unfolded, emergency services responded to the scene where a vehicle had made contact with a power pole, leading to substantial disruption in electricity supply.

Utilities crews were dispatched to assess the damage and work on restoring power to the affected customers. The collision’s impact on the power pole requires extensive repairs, resulting in extended outage periods for residents and businesses within the Orcutt area.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports there were no injuries as a result of this crash.

The authorities have cautioned motorists to avoid the area around the intersection of Highway 135 and Skyway Drive to enable a smooth repair operation and ensure the safety of the utility workers.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
