Orcas Off of UCSB?

Some of my campus colleagues saw something unusual off of the campus beach this week (Thursday afternoon.) “It looked like fat, slow dolphin but with a huge dorsal fin,” one of them reported. A couple from Alaska walked up and identified the creatures as orcas. Is this possible? I know we get orca in the channel on some years. But I don’t remember a citing in close. Have any other readers spotted any Orcinus Orca in local waters this week?
