Officers Apprehend Suspects Following Shooting and Foot Pursuit in Santa Maria

On May 17, 2026, at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of 2326 S. Broadway.

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire and observing suspects fleeing the area in a silver Dodge Durango. Officers later located the vehicle at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of W. Boone, where several occupants fled on foot. Three subjects were taken into custody.

Evidence recovered at the scene and during the investigation included firearms and shell casings.

One suspect has been identified as the reported shooter based on witness statements, video evidence, and clothing descriptions.
