NonProfit of the Week: Pacific Pride Foundation

Pacific Pride Foundation’s advocacy and education efforts meet the ongoing and emerging needs of a diverse population in order to create a thriving and visible LGBTQ+ community and to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS.

Pacific Pride Foundation has become the foremost resource for people living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBT community, both in Santa Barbara County and the coastal communities of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco. With offices in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, PPF is a strong, respected leader providing high quality, compassionate health and social service programs not available through any other organization in the county.

Pacific Pride Foundation takes a lifespan approach to LGBTQ+ Programming, with all offerings explicitly inclusive of Transgender and Gender Diverse individuals, including:

  • PROUD LGBTQ+ Youth Program (12 – 17 years)
  • Support for Caregivers and Families of LGBTQ+ Individuals
  • Middle and High School Outreach
  • New LGBTQ+ Young Adult Program (18 – 25+ years)
  • LGBTQ+ Sensitivity Trainings
  • LGBT+ Elder Program

The Pacific Pride Foundation also hosts numerous fundraisers and community outreach events throughout the year. Sunset at the Canary is a monthly summer cocktail mixer atop downtown Santa Barbara’s only luxury hotel. With breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean, this beautiful spot brings together LGBTQ+ folks and allies to enjoy beverages while mixing and mingling amidst the tunes of local favorite DJ Darla Bea. The annual Pride Festival is scheduled for August 26th at Chase Palm Park.
