The Rona Barrett Foundation focuses on providing affordable housing solutions and wellness services for the low-income elderly. Founded by former entertainment journalist Rona Barrett, the non-profit has been instrumental (partnering with the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara) in the development and the opening late last year of The Golden Inn and Village, an affordable independent housing facility for seniors in need.

The Golden Inn and Village, through efforts of the Rona Barrett Foundation, also provides a list of activities and services which include fitness programs, art classes, health screenings and social functions. Phase Two of the Golden Inn and Village, which will feature an assisted living and memory care unit for low-income seniors, will begin construction in 2018.

In addition to working with partners to develop the new addition, the Rona Barrett Foundation will raise funds to provide scholarship assistance for those who require this level of care, but are not financially able.
