The mission of the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society is to foster an interest in the study of family history through educational programs, operation of a genealogical research library, and preservation of local genealogical records to enhance understanding of ourselves and our heritage.

The SB County Genealogical Society held their Honors Luncheon on Saturday at the La Cumbre Country Club.  It was attended by over 100 Society Members.

President, Karen Ramsdell, presided over the event, and six longtime members were honored for their service: Rosa Avolio, Don Gill, Kathie Morgan, Michel Nellis, Cari Thomas, and John Woodward.

Presenters of the awards: Gary Shumaker, Robert Goeller, Kristin Ingalls, Karen Ramsdell, Debbie Kaska, and Margery Baragona provided inspiring and detailed stories of the many contributions made by the honorees.
