Laguna Blanca Lower School students are gearing up to return back to their Montecito campus at 260 San Ysidro Road on Monday, April 23. “We have been so fortunate to share the amazing facilities at Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara in Goleta and we are very grateful for the support they have offered us during the past three months of our displacement from our Montecito campus,” says Head of Lower School Andy Surber. This collaboration has enabled Laguna to maintain its program while providing a stable learning environment for its youngest students (Grades EK-4)—all with minimal interruptions to the school calendar during the recent rainy season and subsequent evacuations.
A “Welcome Back” Celebration is planned for the afternoon of Monday, April 23. After a final morning of instruction at the Girls Inc. Goleta facility, all Lower School students will be bused to the Montecito campus. Children will run through a spirit tunnel upon arrival and begin the party at 1:30pm with interactive Earth Day activities (making solar s’mores, mixing up smoothies on the bike blender, creating colorful recycled crayons, and trying out the tall climbing wall from UCSB). Students will also get a chance to see all their classrooms again, as their teachers prepare for their first full day back in Montecito on Tuesday (4/24) morning.
Laguna is so thankful for the support its parents have offered the faculty and staff throughout the transition from Montecito to Girls Inc. and now back to Montecito. “We look forward to celebrating our return and wrapping up the year on our home campus,” says Surber.
The Girls Inc. campus is not in Goleta. It is in Santa Barbara, 93111, also known at Noleta. Goleta begins just before Patterson, at the creek. Girls Inc. is a wonderful jewel, and so clever of everyone to share at such an important time. Brava!
Ok everyone, be sure to note that Girls Inc. is not in “Goleta!” We don’t want to offend anyone by associating it with a lesser city. “Brava?” Ugh…. smells snobby in here….
As an exclamation, brava is the feminine of bravo. “Girls” Inc. feminine. Saying brava celebrates! As for location, it’s simply a fact. Nothing else intended.
A completely irrelevant fact, yes. So why did you feel the need to spend 3 out of 4 sentences in your comment discussing how it is not in Goleta, but rather “in Santa Barbara” (which is also incorrect)?
