On 11/16/2022, LPD Officers were dispatched to Bank of America located at 1409 N H St STE 110 in Lompoc. Bank officials had located 2 skimming devices in their on sight ATM’s.
These Devices were collected by Officers and there is an ongoing investigation. It is unknown at this time how long the skimmers were in the ATM’s or who may have been affected. If you bank with Bank of America and have recently used these ATM’s, it is a good idea to check your accounts closely. You should also call the bank and alert them that your account may be compromised and request a new card.
The Lompoc Police Department would like to warn the public of the potential of skimming mechanisms being placed on ATM’s, gas pumps, etc., that could lead to your bank or credit card information being stolen and used without your knowledge.
You are always cautioned to check the area where you insert your card. If you feel there is a problem with the machine, please report it to the owner of the machine or call the non-emergency Lompoc PD dispatch number at 805 736-2341
