Ventura County firefighters have fully contained a brush fire off Highway 101 near La Conchita and Mussel Shoals on Friday evening.
Roger the Scanner Guy reported the now called Shoals Fire began around 5:30 p.m.
An engine strike team was driving through the area when the fire was reported and was able to stop and assist with a quick knockdown.
Firefighters fully contained the 1.63-acre fire around 8:00 p.m. They remained on scene to cool hotspots and investigate a cause. Some power poles are believed to have been affected by the fire.
