  1. One more term and Murillo will no longer be mayor. Kick Murillo up to assembly and she haunts us for at least 18 more years. Far more efficient to keep her as mayor and then be done with her. Until the local politicos anoint another clone to take her place. Ad nauseum.

  2. “Far more efficient to keep her as mayor and then be done with her. Until the local politicos anoint another clone to take her place. Ad nauseum.” — Ah, so it doesn’t matter. Nothing matters, the Dems have it sewn up forever, might as well not vote at all!

  3. Chip. It will be again. Almost all Counties in CA were represented at last weekends 6th Congressional Convention in San Luis Obispo last weekend. Check it out at NewCaliforniaState.com and get involved.

  4. Prop 13 limits were quickly remedied by Prop 98- guaranteeing 50% of all state general revenues were dedicated solely for K-14 education in this state. Since Calif is currently the “6th largest economy in the world” 50% of current tax revenues going directly to K-14 schools more than makes up for any mythological loss to schools imposed by Prop 98. Problems in California schools have nothing to do with any lack of funding. Just the opposite. They are a cash cow which means too many on the inside have lost touch with their real purpose – quality education for the students of this state.

  5. California used to be a solid red state. It was business friendly, housing was affordable for everyone, taxes were low, regulations were limited, utilities and fuel cost a fraction of what they do today, etc. Folks used to think that it would always be that way, but nothing lasts forever. Today California is solid blue. It is hostile to business, housing is the least affordable in the nation, taxes are sky high, regulations are stifling, our utilities and fuel are among the most costly in the nation, etc. People seem to think that will never change. However, nothing lasts forever. It will get worse before it gets better, but California can’t stay blue for much longer. When you see the college republicans holding protests for free speech, you know the times they are a changin’.

  6. COASTWATCH – where does it say the guy was a “vagrant” or otherwise homeless? How is every crime the fault of democrats? You republicans constantly boast and beat your chests about “personal accountability,” yet when someone commits a crime, it’s not their fault, it’s the liberals’ fault. Where’s your outrage at the criminal himself? So much for your personal accountability!

  7. I’m not aware of any case where anyone on the right has ever taken any responsibility for any of their own flaws or errors … responsibility is always for the other guy. You can see that over and over here, at Fox News, from the White House, etc.

  8. Calif schools used to be the best in the nation too. Now they hover near the bottom rankings nationwide. That is the most devastating consequence of all, after becoming this one-party deep blue state. Term limits have not served this state well at all. Undo them. No more revolving doors of fungible one-party deep blue mediocracy.
