Santa Maria Police and FBI Arrest Ventura Man for Attempting to Entice Minor

On Friday, 12/30/2022 at approximately 0930 hours, SMPD Detectives along with FBI agents, arrested Nelson H. Galvez, 34 years old, resident of Ventura County, in the 1000 blk. Of E. Main Street, in Santa Maria.

Galvez was taken into custody for communicating with and attempting to contact who he believed to be a minor with the intent to engage in sexual acts. Galvez was contacted by detectives after he drove from Ventura County to meet the person he believed was a minor.

Galvez was booked into the Santa Barbara County North Branch Jail with his bail set at $100,00.00

SMPD Detectives are concerned Galvez may have been in contact with other potential victims. Anyone who may have additional information about this case are asked to contact SMPD Detective Julia Tatarian at (805) 928-3781 at extension 1614.
