Possible active shooter in Lompoc. Suspect described a Hispanic male adult (HMA) with a rifle firing shots in the area of 600 Block of West Maple and 700 North E. Street.

The police response to this was a mess, with an initial report by LPD of an ‘active shooter.’ Then, not. Sheriff’s scrambled SWAT and everyone else based on the initial report, then stood them down when the call was re-stated as a man with a gun, associated with a black Chevy Malibu. Then, on again with reports there were shots fired, but no known victims. They somehow ID’d the suspect as an individual with past probation history and an address in the SY Valley. He was apparently a 17-year-old, if so the question; where did he get a rifle? Lost the thread and interest there. Maybe in the news tomorrow (Haven’t checked Noozhawk).
Lompoc is basically bankrupt. People will have to take care of themselves.
