Meteor?

Unbelievably large comet-like fireball with long, fiery tail streaks across northern sky at 8:30pm. Improbably close, yet absolutely silent. Four or five seconds from beginning to end, when it disappeared without a trace in a low, descending arc towards earth! I’ve never seen anything like it!
