Man Medically Evacuated From Fishing Boat Off Coast

A Coast Guard search-and-rescue crew assisted in the medical evacuation of 25-year-old male 16 nautical miles west of Santa Barbara Harbor, Sunday afternoon.

Watchstanders at Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center received notification of a male going in out of consciousness on the passenger vessel Stardust at approximately noon.

Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Forwarding Operating Base Point Mugu to respond.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene and safely hoisted a crew member down to the vessel Stardust to provide emergency medical services.

Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol arrived on scene and transported the man to the Santa Barbara Harbor where emergency medical services awaited and transported the male to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition

@santabarbaracityfire and #santabarbaraharborpatrol with #amr responded to assist a fishing vessel in the Santa Barbara channel with a crewmember in distress. #uscg also launched a helicopter and deployed a rescue swimmer. The victim was transferred to boat 2 and transported back to shore.
