Los Olivos Superintendent Placed on Administrative Leave

Update by an edhat reader

My nephew attends this school and I can say that parents are thoroughly confused by this. We had family members attend the public meeting and many people (parents and staff) reported odd and unprofessional behavior by Dudek.

There were messages that went out where Dudek blamed a few teachers for contract negotiations even though none of that was brought up by teachers or parents during the meeting.

The Santa Ynez Valley Star has the most complete report, but it still seems there is more going on that’s going unreported.

The Los Olivos Elementary School District Board sent an update to parents and staff stating the newly hired Dr. Vicky Dudek has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the complaint against her by staff members.

“We fully expect our teachers to continue their excellent teaching and care for our students during this time. Our staff will follow the protocols established for Dr. Dudeck’s absence and the board will explore options for an interim administrator,” the memo stated.

What’s the real story here?
