Lifetime Forest Pass Not Accepted?

The new Concessioner at the first river crossing on Paradise Rd did not honor my America the Beautiful Senior Life Time Pass. I bought it at the Ranger Station on Paradise Road and it was represented as lifetime access to Los Padres National Forest. As I am still alive, how is it that they can break the contract? Has anyone challenged this?
